Rich...
There aren't any worries. I'm sure you could jump in with pretty much anyone if you don't come up with a buddy you were planning on rooming with. I was in the same boat to start with and there are/were many options open.
At the worst...I know the place can put a roller in the rooms to accomodate 3 people. That brings the cost down even more!!!
Get it together and make some plans to go. I'll take the roller if need be.

Thanks for offer and advice, Chris. I'm gonna work on this the next couple of days. There is even a chance that I could lend my middle boy a bike and he would come. I'm really late planning on this, as I didn't think I would be able to go at all untill just lately. And maybe I can work it to ride up part way with your group. I'll keep you posted.

Room is booked for Thurs., Fri., and Sat.

Doren (rode a baby V-Star last year) is now on a Triumph Tiger, but he can't make it this year.

Still waiting to see if it works out for Jeff (he was the Suzuki C50 rider).

About 54 days to go...

That was just part of the free Triumph Rider Room Upgrade. The upgrade also included a 42 inch plasma TV and several quarts of Mobil 1 4T Synthetic Racing Oil lined up on the dresser.

Ok, it looks like I can go. But after a lot of wrangling, it looks like just me. (But d angit, my middle boy is still dangling me, cause he's between jobs and doesn't know that far out.)Anybody need a roomie? I'd rather split one before I reserve a room.

I'm already splitting a room. Good you can make it though. If you do book a room make sure to ask for the "bigtexas room upgrade".

I have the weekend of the 22nd of May open and the first weekend in June. I'm only 60 miles from Poopies.

I want to hook up with some of you guys this year. I live in Dubuque, so getting there is not a problem. Are there any plans to gather at some point before heading out?
I could be at Timmermans just about any time if you are leaving from there. An approximate time would help. Hanging around a motel parking lot might get me labeled as a pervert.

It's East Dubuque, who's gonna notice another pervert? We will have a better idea for times as the weekend gets closer. If you want to ride with us this sat. i'll post what time and where Denny and I are meeting as soon as i know.

Sorry fella's. I am probably out. I can't afford to take off three days from my schedule, which is already running into July. Building us a new house, working my regular schedule and the occasional breath doesn't allow me a vacation this year. There is a really small chance I could make it the last minute, if materials don't come in that week, but I doubt it. I'm gonna watch this site and experience it vicariously through you folks. (Nuts, just like last years Ark Rally)

I think stopping by poopy's for lunch or something on friday would be cool, but if there is another route with something cooler, then i'm all for it. On friday let's plan to get going at around 10 or 11am or so, depending on the trip. The big saturday ride we should probably get going early, maybe 9am.

Rich- bad news man, hope you find a way to make it out, last minute or whatever. Good luck with the house.

hacksaw- Be glad to have one more pervert in the parking lot with the rest of us. Timmermans will be the starting point and defacto rally HQ. There is a nice deck out front and there are usually a number of us hanging out in the parking lot.

Big Texas, Doren, and I will be meeting this Sat. 10am, at the Big Ten Mart in East Dubuque. We'll map out and pre-ride a couple of routes to poopy's in Savanna.
Anybody that wants to help out and offer opinions is welcome to come and ride with us.

It's good to know I won't be the only pervert there.
Looking forward to meeting all of you.
Since I'm somewhat of a local, I may be able to help with directions and suggestions on places to see.

Well it seems that American Lady Cruises is doing a happy hour cruise this year after all. I think it was a great time last year and would love to do it again. I'm going to book it for friday evening at 5:30. I'll tell them to bring extra chips!

This means that for the friday ride, we should probably plan on being back at the hotel no later than 4pm, to relax a little and to meet up with whoever is coming into town on friday or who may not do the friday ride.

I'll contact them tomorrow and see about a group rate, I think it was 12 bucks last year.

The link say 14.95 plus tax. for the Happy hour cruise.
Sounds like something fun to do.

Maybe the captain will run close to the river banks so we can look for Scott's Triumph Raptor gloves. I wonder if they've made it to the gulf by now...

I should have stopped on the bridge and got my gloves back! I liked those gloves!

Talked to them today and it's on. They said 15 bucks, so no discount for the group, which sucks, but we'll make up for it by eating all their chips! They're sending me a "contract" for the reservation, By my count we should have about 25 people, give or take. I'll have to put a deposit down and I'll just have a couple people pay me when we get there instead of paying for a ticket there. Worked out well that way last year.

Big Texas, Doran and I rode a route to Poopy's last Sat. My scenic and backroad route is a bit long, came out to about 140 miles round trip. At the moment i'm planning on going out the second weekend of June and seeing how much i can trim off that distance and still keep it fun. (mapquest is about 80 miles round trip using the direct boring route)
Anybody that wants to ride along and help out is welcome, I would like to have a couple of local people pre-ride with me so they can lead the group during the actual ride. (i probably won't be able to get that friday off.)

... but it was scenic, and I had a great time trying to keep pace with you through the twisty roads.

I'll ride with you again if I can, but there's a possibility that I'll be out of town that weekend. I'll let you know as that weekend gets closer.

You planning to eat at Poopy's again? I have to admit the "Regular Poop" that we had on the last ride was delicious.

Less than a month to go! Sent the deposit today for the happy hour cruise. We're on for friday, 5:30pm. We should probably get there at 5.

Gary and Denny - If you guys are going to do another pre-ride to Poopy's the weekend of June 12-13 I'll see if I can get out there. I'm off that weekend.
