A change in venue may be necessary. I talked to the manager at Timmerman's hotel again today. There are 2 wedding parties scheduled the same weekend we need for the rally. It's just the saturday, but still. They only have 10 rooms available. I don't think this will be enough. He was trying to work something out for us, and even contacted the wedding party to see if they really needed 50 rooms. He says they didn't want to release any rooms, but he could release them to us if they become available. I'd rather not leave that to chance. So we have to go to plan B. If we want to keep the hotel in the same ballpark as far as price, we have 2 options. Option 1, across the river in Dubuque, IA, there is a heartland inn that gave me a bid for $59 per night. Doesn't look too impressive if you ask me. There is also a Best Western that looks a lot nicer but it's 90 bucks a night. Option 2, we move the rally to LaCrosse, WI. Got a bid for 65 per night from a "biker friendly" hotel called the Brookstone Inn. I also just put in a request for bids in the Davenport, IA area, we'll see what comes up. Let me know what you guys want to do.
