Yep, I think his old line of, "They don't pay me enough to ride that thing!", is probably one of the more famous quotes in all of motorcycle racing lore!

Coincidentally, about 5 or 6 years ago and just before the event ceased to be, a friend and I were at one of the old premiere west coast motorcycle show/race weekends at Del Mar racetrack near San Diego, where there would be a saturday classic bike show, and then sunday they'd race The Mile event on the horse track.

My friend Phil and I were standing trackside and actually helped push start that very TZ750 which was being ridden by one of the greats in flat track racing back in the '60s and '70s, Eddie Mulder.

And after that bike started up and Eddie rode off, I swear it took me half a day for the ringing in my ears to stop. That sucker was L-O-U-D!!!!
