I stop in Publix almost every day on the way home from work, while I'm in my work week apt. for food. Yesterday as I'm getting off the bike, with my hat, dark sunglasses, and leathers, a mother is coming out of the store with a 3 year old in a stroller. This kid is screaming about something he wants, and she had her hands full with the groceries and another smaller kid in arms. So I stop in my tracks in the parking lot and she's coming across the drive towards me, and I focus intensly on the crying boy. As he gets closer he notices I'm watching him, and the crying gets less and less, until they are right in front of me. I look straight down at this red-eyed toddler and ask him "Does it hurt that much, you really need to keep screaming like that?" The kids eyes get REAL big, and he shuts up quiet as a clam. I look at the mom and smile, she smiles back and I walk on to the store. Not another sound came out of that kid. Am I bad?

later, Tom.

But, what do I know?

I had a similar experience where I work. Same scene except the mother met me at the door and on her way by told the kid she would leave him with me if he didn't stop. She looked up at me and smiles then and I got a good laugh.

Should have bent down quietly whispered in the lads ear "shurrit or I will kick yer ****** to the moon" worked for me and the mother was most impressed she thought I was imparting some sage words of biker wisdom......

Of COURSE you're bad. We bikers have a rep to maintain, after all! (And if ya can't scare the bejesus out of a 3 year old, what's the fun?!)

You BAD!

My grandmother was bad too. When one of us would throw a fit she would just sit us in front of a mirror. Once you saw how ridiculous you looked laughter would break out.
This method has worked well for me when getting stuck baby sitting nieces and nephews.

On the other hand, my grandfather would just give you a reason to cry, he'd beat you ******.

You're so mean!! How cool that the Mom was so nice about it. When in my leathers with our club colors and all my other patches there are always 2 kinds of reactions. One is OMG you're a woman and I want to know more about your bike, and the other is to stare but avoid me. I get a kick out of it.
