I saw this at the International Bike Show in Greenville this weekend.

Is it still a bike if it has bucket seats and a steering wheel?

Agreed - not a bike. I saw this at the Seattle show, and it does look pretty cool, and there was a video of Jeremy Clarkson driving around in it.

A trike is not a bike, it's a trike. Files under: Duh. I've been seeing a lot of web sites lately that call just about any kind of 3-wheeled vehicles motorcycles and it drives me crazy.

That said, maybe the "bike show" was open to trikes...

It gets better .... I'm pretty sure over here, the 'proper' name (by that I mean what insurance companies and the rozzers call 'em) for a quad bike is a quadricycle

well if you look at the language involved...

BIcycle - 2 wheels
TRIcycle - 3 wheels
MOTORcycle - cycle with a motor, doesnt specify number of wheels

I think if you straddle it and its got handle bars instead of a steering wheel its a motorcycle. But you should specify 3-wheeled motorcycle when applicable.

Bars on a horse with a motorized circulation fan?

Motorcycle..haha

Its a three-wheeler, just like a Morgan

Trikes have two wheels at the back and one in the front. Just like a plastic pig

Three wheels with an axle is a car or a trike and you can drive it on a car licence.Three wheels without an axle is a motorcycle with sidecar which you do need a motorcycle licence. whenever I think or three wheel cars a Reliant Robin always springs to mind

A few weeks back there was a contingent of six of these T-Rexs out in L.A. while making a circuit through the U.S. from their company's headquarters outside Montreal. They were at the Rock Store(a motorcycle gathering roadhouse located in the Santa Monica Mountains) and were giving test rides(as in, you were sittin' shotgun), and they'd take people up and down the tight corkscrew section of Mulholland Hwy just west of there.

My wife and I both took 'em up on their offer and let me tell ya, no, those T-Rexs are in no way a "motorcycles"...they're much more like a little Formula racecar. They have a skidpad lateral g-force rating of over 1-g(was told it was actually 1.3g), and yeah, I can verify those puppies could definitely achieve that, alright.

They are amazingly quick in acceleration and braking, and especially in tight turns.

The problem with them is that they sell for $50,000, and at that price there are many other performance vehicles one can purchase out there for that amount of bread. I had a quick conversation with Jay Leno that day after they let him drive one, and that was also his take of their business venture.

Well John, I'll tell ya...if YOU would have been ridin' shotgun in that thing and goin' up that twisty road mountain road at 80MPH(and past many a road sign that have those little crooked arrows on 'em that say 20MPH) like I did, I'm pretty sure YOU would've found THAT more than just a little "scintillating", ol' buddy!!!)

you are right Dwight, i had the good fortune of riding in one a couple yrs ago and i must say it is one of if not the quickest and best handleing machine i have ever riden in. we did U-turns at (i think) 60mph, he said it handles like an F-1. well i have never riden in an F-1 but i have to believe him. 0 to 60 in less than 3 seconds. it is everything anybody could want for fun thats for sure. i have riden in some exotics but nothing i can remember come close to that.

ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Yeah newt, they're amazin' machines alright, ain't they?!

But considin' my 550 Spyder cost me half of what they're askin' for 'em(though admittedly the T-Rex's performance is much greater), that 50 Grand is still way too much to ask for one. Now IF they were say around 30 Grand, THEN you're talkin'!!!

Well Tom, with the full rollcage and lap/shoulder harnesses those babies have, I'm figuring they're quite a bit safer than any Ducati 1198, Yamaha R1 or Suzuki GSXR you OR I will ever see!

I would still rather have the Rocket Roadster even if they were the same price.
My guys decided to start messing with me at the show and told the folks at
the stand that one of those monstrosities would be the perfect bike for me.

Not that they would let anyone get in on the driver side anyway, but I looked
in the cockpit and asked if they had a shoehorn to pry my butt out of it if I did
manage to squeeze into the Iron Maiden they call a seat.

I never said I didn't like the T-Rex. I've always been a trike fan. By all accounts the thing is insane.

It just ain't a motorcycle, which was the original point (I think).

In Delaware, it is regesterd and taged as a motorcycle. I guess it all depends where your from. I'm guessig anything with less than four wheels on the ground is a bike.
