Got back a couple of hours ago. All went well. I spent the last couple of hours in the basement with Spanky, the bro who went with me, throwing back cold ones & tossin' ideas around.

I love it! The pic's don't do her justice - she's got a low & ready to go stance about her like a jet just before take off with the engines revved & the pilot standing on the brakes.

First thing we did was put the bars on her.

Two mock-up shots of the rear fender. I know they're not exactly where she's gonna sit, but I couldn't resist.

Battery box. This probably won't stay there - gotta either modify the existing oil tank with a batt/elec tray or go with something else that's already got one. At any rate, it'll need to be lowered some. Bracket at right top is the bottom fender mount.

Thanx Friar. Unfortunately, I've got other pressing matters that need doing & won't be able to do much with her for a couple three days or so. Do-do occurs.

The man that built the frame is David Huntress (Tigman) in Rockland, Mass. Needless to say, I highly recommend him.

I wonder if he'd trade a frame for a web site, cuz that needs HELP.

Nice!Nice! Nice! But You are sure with this Flatfender. I think too much space between fender and wheel. A more round Fender will fit better, my personal opinion.

best wishes

Still not positive I'm gonna go with the flat, but you must realize that in the pics the fender is only balanced (on a paint roller) on top of the tire in an approximate position. I'm sure it'll mount much closer should I go that route.

Since last night, I've been considering finding a set of old school ribbed fenders. I think they look great on old Trumpets & would fit right in here. Let's just say the idea's growin' on me big time.

Thompson I'm envious of you. I had to take a time out on my build. My job is furloughing us 2 days a month, which takes over 400 dollars month from my pockets. I'm going to have to wait until I receive my tax return before I can finish. I wish you well on your build......Angelis

The bars are called Zym bars from Vicious Cycle Works. They're 1" thick & detailed measurements can be found here:

http://www.viciouscycleworks.us/khxc/ccp0-prodshow/ZYMYAFFE.html

They weren't cheap at $300, but once I saw them, I had to have 'em.

Here's another source for truly unique bars I found long after I already had these. This dude sells his bars in either 7/8" or 1" plus he'll custom make a set for you if you don't see something you like. On top of that, he's practically giving them away.
