I'm thinking Guitar Acquisition Syndrome. Happens to me too - I just got rid of 2 guitars  and now want a new one. It comes in waves, just like gas!

Just inherited a '76 Martin D-35 myself, needs a little TLC, but it has seen a lot of late night honky-tonks and sounds like I remember it from my youth sitting on the stairs and listening to Friday night practices.
