Yep Ron, usually by June it starts gettin' pretty warm down around Wickenburg and the lower elevations, and that's kind'a why I always held the rally in May.

I think last year's weather with those extreme low pressure cells was pretty much an anomaly, but ya never know, ya know.

However, the idea I was kind'a kickin' around for this year was maybe moving the rally up a few weeks to start Friday April 30th and end Sunday May 2nd, so that it could include the SWTF attendees goin' to the first ever AMA-sanctioned Pro Mile Flat Track races to be run that Saturday May 1st at the Yavapai Downs Fairgrounds, where the world's oldest rodeo takes place every year. You folks who have come to the SWTF before might remember seeing this venue along Hwy 89A on the way to Jerome and just before you begin the climb up and over Mingus Mountain.

I was thinking of putting this idea up for a vote, because I'm wonderin' if moving the dates up to include this race might either increase the turnout for this year's rally or somehow inhibit it.

So folks, whatcha think about this idea?! Don't be shy now. I'd really like to hear from any and all those interested in attending this year's SWTF if you think this is a good idea, or as I mentioned above, if moving the dates forward a few weeks might somehow cause you to miss the rally.

(thanks all!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
