Yep, the engine cuts out and when you hit the limiter its because your in a place you DONT want to break down.
Many of the early 2002/2003 270° igniter's do that when you hit the rev limiter. If the most you rev to is say 7.8k and raise the rev limiter to 8k, it won't happen unless you hit the new 8k limit. It's a fault in the design of the early rev limiter and the only way round it is to keep the rev limit out of the way of where you're revving too.
