I'd like to know what CDI unit is supposed to go with the early 03 Americas with a serial number below 237500. It appears the PDF file from Procom only shows that their CDI units are for units >237500 and they have two different units for that series???
Hi Greg, Not wanting to appear dumb. What do you mean by serial number?
I have a 2004 Speedmaster built in 02 of that year. The Igniter is part number T1292060.
Hey Frank,
I went to the Bike Bandit website to see what info they had regarding the CDI units and they show a difference in their part numbers for bikes manufactured before 237000 verses those manufactured after. I think this is determined by the last 6 digits in our serial number (serial number being the VIN#). Mine is in the 170000 range so it appears I would need the earlier CDI model which Procom doesn't appear to support.
I guess I need to pull my tank and see what is actually stamped on mine but can't do it until the @$#%&^* spring. I wonder if it really makes any difference which one is purchased.
Here is the section pasted from the Bike Bandit website. The part numbers are probably theirs and not Triumph OEM.
7: IGNITER, 2 CYL, 270, EVAP SERIAL NUMBER 237501 AND HIGHER 5567481-001 Enter 0-99 $564.32 7: IGNITION CTRL UNIT,TWIN,270 IGNITION TIMING SERIAL NUMBER 237500 AND BELOW 5567480-001 Enter 0-99 $606.93
Hey Greg, If this helps the last six numbers of my VIN are 194433. Igniter part no 1292060 which according to the list is supported by Procom.
