Bought a pair of Draggin' jeans this week. They are excellent! Fit a lot like my regular Levi's (same size), but you can tell they are much heavier. Not so much heavier that they are uncomfortable, just the opposite - I "feel" better knowing I have a little something extra between me and the asphalt.
They have a huge inventory in their store in Hickory, NC. They also have a large selection of factory "seconds." I bought a pair that had such a minor defect I had to ask the salesman to show me where it was. Paid around $65 vs. the regular $90 price. Got the knee armor, too. Feel and look a little bulky, but they're comfortable and the extra peace-of-mind while riding is a REALLY good feeling.
I also bought a long-sleeve, Kevlar shirt. Expensive ($120), but cheaper than new skin!
Good stuff! MADE IN AMERICA! If you've been thinking about buying a pair, treat yourself. I hope I never have to put them to the test, but I like knowing I've got an extra safety factor.
On a special note: they had a VERY nice '57 Triumph T-Bird in the back of the store!

I tested mine out about 2 months ago. Ripped off the right back pocket and tore the denim a little. I was on gravel-over-asphalt and got no pebble inbeddation or road rash at all . Just a nice bruise on my butt .

inbeddation - en-beh-day-shun 1. Process of seduction where the goal is to end up in the bedroom 2. The act of worshipping a Serta Perfect Sleeper matress. You're right Adey, nothing about pebbles.

I have a pair and enjoy them, esp for the cooler temps. I would not say 'better' then leather, just different. More comfortable for me to wear and not immediatly identifed as 'rider gear'. The extra kevlar in the seat make it feel a little 'funny' walking around, maybe like wearing an extra undergarment.......The kevlar at the knee extends to the top of my boot. Hope I never have to find out how they perform, but I find them comforting..... ymmv

Ray,
Not better but there are times when I just want to wear jeans. Without knowing, you'd swear Draggins were just regular jeans.
I have two pair and love them. Very comfortable.
Shooting for a third pair for my birthday...

Just havin' a little fun bigbill. Hope you don't mind. Couldn't ride today, chest cold has me down with a bit of a fever thrown in, so I'm bored. Watched about 10 minutes of the Super Bowl and after a series of 3 plays where a wide open receiver dropped a ball, then Alexander twitched before the snap for a 5 yd penalty, and an incomplete bomb that had no chance of working, I gave up. So here I am back on the computer. Draggin'? Yeah, I'm draggin' alright.

Fun is good . I just got my new front tire mounted yesterday, didn't get it back on the bike 'til late, so went out for a while today to scuff it up .

I am guessing that they make them in both the U.S. and in Austrailia. Here is their Austrailian web site http://www.dragginjeans.com.au and here is their U.S. web site http://www.dragginjeans.com . It is strange that the ones they sell in Canada are the Austrailian made ones. I wonder if there is any difference? Soren

I own two pair, one fleece lined for winter riding and I am very comfortable in 30 deg (on the few days we have them in GA) temps. However the other pair are a bit hot on 90 deg days.

I have had a pair of these for about 3 years,The very first time I ran into a storm I quickly found out they are not waterproof (after paying the extra to buy the waterproof pair) I contacted Draggin and they said to spray them all over with the same waterproofing that you use on clothing when going to the snowfields. Will have to wait for another rainstorm to test them. Cheers. Stevew

I sent the following email to the Canadian Draggin Jeans, The Australian Draggin Jeans and the American Draggin Jeans: Quote:
Are the jeans made in the U.S. (http://www.dragginjeans.com) different from the ones made in Australia (http://www.dragginjeans.com.au and http://www.dragginjeans.ca)? Thanx, Soren
The response I got from the Canadians and Austrailians were vertually identical:
Quote:
Yes, and thanks for contacting us. The Draggin Jeans made in Australia add more Kevlar lining to the back side and outer thigh, where the US made ones do not. There are also more products available. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks
Here is the response I got from the Americans:
Quote:
The jeans that are made internationally are completely separate from our company and there is no affiliation between our products. We invented Draggin' Jeans and have produced our products since their inception. All of our products are (and always have been) designed, tested and manufactured here in the US. We produce a product that we have designed and tested ourselves so that we can be sure of the quality and protection our jeans have to offer. Unfortunately we have no information about the other company’s products that would indicate that we could speak as highly of their products that use our "Draggin' Jeans" name. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Soren

Kinda like everyone else who rips off an American company.
What pisses me off is that the REAL Draggin Jeans company has no recourse
(other than a very expensive and probably futile battle)
Reminds me of Lowes and many others. Steal a successful business model and then camp out on that company's doorstep.

Yes.. at least they used to. I purchased one of my pair from She Rides which used to be located in the Toosey's way station which is now closed and all stores have moved on. I do not know if/where She Rides has relocated
