Finally, things are starting to come together for my 1st ever build. I've been thinkin', drinkin', smokin' & tokin' while ordering parts since spring while trying to meet all of lifes commitments & still get in a decent amount of riding time.

I dropped off most of my major components on August 18th outside of Boston so Tigman (Dave Huntress) could build me a frame. (it took all summer to find someone close enough to drive to that could build it in a reasonable time frame so I wouldn't have to ship the motor across country.)

A few days before Christmas he called & told me he's workin' on it (Merry frakkin' Christmas baby!!!) & now he's sent me some pics.

Right now, the tins and frame are gonna be black metal flake with coppery flecks instead of the usual silver. I may however, end up doing the frame in a copper metallic to set the rest of the bike off, as there will be alot of copper and/or brass parts. I won't know this till I've got the bike downstairs & start adding parts... bones & brewski's I'm sure will be involved in coming to that decision.

The tins will also have in brass metallic various Viking artwork as that is my heritage & I'm proud of it.

All cables/oil lines will be copper braided cable.

I should be going to pick her up in two weeks max. I have no doubt whatsoever I'll be sportin' wood all the way home lookin' in the rear view & seein' my baby in the back of my truck.

Crime scene gas cap. For those of you who've never seen one of these, all the holes around the perimeter have brass caps:

I almost went with that Crime Scene Choppers gas cap but opted for the Monza style flip up cap.

Wow! A VERY ambitious project ya got going there!! Ya got some pieces in brass that I've often thought would go good with my Cardinal. I would LOVE to do the oil lines and fittings in brass too if I could.

I look forward to watching your build take shape (if you would be so kind as to continue to grace us with pictures).

Meanwhile a question outta the many... where did you get those disks from?

Live to love, love to live.

Hey there Mountainman. I had originally planned to go just black and brass, but there's only a very limited selection of brass parts out there & some of 'em are ridiculously expensive. Too much to make it worth it. Copper is readily available - ya' gotta do what ya' gotta do...

I got the roters on Ebay from a seller called 'Chopshop1 motorcycle parts' for $110.00 with shipping.

That is going to be one sweet looking ride Thompson. I'm working on some smaller scale changes to my bike, but I like your approach to building it. Keep flexible and see how it looks as you go and taking adequate breaks to review the look. Looking forward to seeing some pics of that fine machine on the road come spring.

OMFG, that is definately gonna be a thing of beauty. Please continue to keep us posted with lots of pics! Poughkeepsie is @275 miles away. If possible, I would love to take a ride down there this spring to see her in person, and I think a few others would like to do the same. You really have something special building there.

Mornin' guys. Man, the last couple of days have been a tad - fuzzy... It would be an honor to have a few of you guys down for a visit. I could meet y'all somewhere, say on a Saturday, take you to my place for a hearty lunch. Hang for awhile then we could all take a nice putt. Back to my place for a cookout & party. You're all welcome to crash here & you could get an early start in the morning. I think that would be a blast.

I'll be looking forward to it.

I emptied out my stash closet this a.m. to get you guys a few more pics of the add-ons. Still haven't heard from Tigman yet, but he's got a family & I'm sure he's had alot on his plate for the last couple of weeks. He's probably back to work on it as we speak.
