Forgot to mention...welcome to the forum Jed. Too bad the the circumstances weren't better.
If you read the thread completely, Frank ended up purchasing a CDI unit from Jack Lilley Triumph in England for substantially less than the Aus price.
Make sure you perform the same checks stated in that thread before condemning the unit. BTW, what model and year of bike do you have?
