I just replaced my Kenda Kruz rear tire with another one.
Thought I'd give a report.
It lasted 8000 miles, which is 1000 more than I got with a Marathon,
and cost 69 bucks, which is over 50 bucks less than the Marathon.
Compared to the IRC Wild Flare, it's about $25 less and lasted 4500 miles longer.
Handling, wet or dry had no problems. These guys seem to have them the cheapest:

I'm a fan of the Kendas too, but i'm surprised at the low-ish mileage you got out of the rear. Do many burnouts? Maybe you just ride on the smokin' hot Florida freeways most of the time?

Ya, we have 10k + on the stock rear tire, and no end in sight.

BTW, I replaced the stock B'stone on my '03 BA @13k miles.
It was worn to the cords, and I didn't realise what a poor
handling tire it was until I put on D404s. Happy so far.

It's the same reason I get 31-34mpg normally, with a low of 25mpg on an extremely rowdy day. Burnouts are not necessary,
but if you hit 6krpm 3 times on the way to 60mph, mileage goes down and tire wear goes up.
Lottsa FUN, though!

Sorry, their Bridgestone "Exedra" G546.
With over 10k, they look great, even wear, no bad spots, and probably 3/32" at worst, in center, much more twards the sides.
No, I don't do burnouts, skid the tire on braking, and I ride casually comfortable "most" times, and have been in the triple digits several times. (I can't speak for Jr., though, he's twenty.)
