New addition to the stable a 06 BMW R1200GS

Been lusting for a touring/adventure bike for a long time now and the GS have what i want..

This bike will hopefully join me to places I have not yet seen and countries I have not yet traveled...

Was out today in 0 degrees celcius and thoose heated grips and the windshield sure is nice to have sometimes!

...and the Bonneville America?

In the garage right next to the Beemer offcorse!

If you have a Beast you also must have a Beauty!

Congratulations Johann! Will you take the beauty or the beast to Austria?

Cool purchase there, Johann! Great motorcycles, those GS's!

(and as usual, your photos are top-notch, and I'd say that second one there especially would make one great ad for BMW Motorrad to run worldwide!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

My jealous side is saying you suck, but I have to say that is a sweet ride. A bike that has some off road capability would be nice in south west Virginia. I moved down here about four months ago and there are quite a few roads for a bike like that. If I get another bike or add on another I'll have to give those type of bikes some serious consideration.

Of course I will. It's got two wheels, right? And, as others have said, great pictures as always!

Never cleaned the bike once..
It´s the magic light up here in Sweden that makes it shine

Have only done about 350 miles on the bike since i bought it and since it´s sub zero temperatures here right now the dust just won´t stick to the metal

The former owner had done a great job keeping the bike in mint condition... It has 16000 miles on the odo and is close to spotless.

Got to find a deep mudhole!

Ps. thanks all for the nice comments about the pictures

Johann

Yes, young Tom! After my ride through the beautiful country of Sweden this past summer, I can certainly verify Johann's explanation above as to the "magic light" effect there seems to exist up there!

(oh, and I ALSO can report that most of the people up there also seem to possess a certain radiance, TOO!!!)

I agree Johann. It looks brand new. But from what I understand about Beemers is that 16,000 miles is just getting broke in. Now you can take a 65 day trip through Europe with Bedouin w/o having to lube your chain.
