Blockheads? I think I saw them out driving today!
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

John, Heads up on a great band that a little unknown but simply fantastic live. I went to a Nine Below Zero (www.ninebelowzero.com) at a little venue in York recently and they were simply knockout! Also at the same venue Ian Segal (No 1 Blues Album Mojo Magazine this year) fab! Best live band for me Stiff Little Fingers www.slf.com OUTSTANDING! Prefer smaller venues and not mainstream so heads up on any others would be most welcome.

Just saw Dream Theater.Supported by Pain of Salvation. Awesome show. Got my ticket signed after the gig by John Myung.Thought PoS were pretty good although they're sound was a little muddy compared to DT.I guess the headline act always gets the better sound setup.I must have consummed a few too many beers on the night because woke up with a massive head ache! I am definately a prog rock(metal) fan. This was the second time I've seen Dream Theater. In Feb I'm travelling to Melbourne to catch Porcupine Tree.Another awesome live prog rock band.

Sheesh! I saw Ian Drury years ago at the Roxy in Hollywood. Poor, ugly b*st*rd sang "Wake Up And Make Love To Me" to some girl in the front row . . . she was so mortified that she cried!

I would be unstoppable if not for law enforcement and physics.

If I hear of any I will let you know Bluenose. Seems to be alot of Tribute bands doing the rounds at the moment tho.
My daughters fella is going to see The Gallows on sunday, apparently they are good but a wee bit too heavy for me.
Also Jethro Tull doing the rounds,, saw him supporting RUSH in 78 I think....
Looking forward to the Blockheads even without Ian Drury RIP Especially on top of Christmas should be a good atmosphere.

Going to a Motörhead concert next tuesday at the ice hall Helsinki. Yesterday bought a ticket to a concert of one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all times - Tarot. This gig is in April at Tavastia club in Helsinki but one cannot afford to risk missing this one.

Well I´m getting old so I take ear plugs with me on every Motörhead gig I go to. They are good, every f.cking time.
I was supposed to go to see Dio yesterday, but as we all know about he´s unfortuned condition, the concert was cancelled and all I can do is to wish him the best and fast recovery. Waiting to see him in Helsinki live and well soon!
Rock on Ronnie James!!!

W.A.S.P... brilliant band, I saw them in Nov '09.
I'm a big KISS fan, and have just seen them at a very intimate gig in London - only 500 tickets Awesome! Also seeing them 5 times this year when they come back to the UK.
Checked out Airborne last year and will do again this year, heard Cinderella are gonna tour so will also look into that!

Next one is Arch Enemy in London at the end of April and then Slayer in London at the start of June. I went to see Hayseed Dixie last week and as expected they were on top form as usual. Great humour and nice to see they played a lot of their own stuff rather than covers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7-hpQcrME0

I saw a band last month. Pretty good mix of covers that get people up and dancing and I usually see them at least once a year I don't know what they call themselves though

The other day I heard that The Who were playin' a free concert at one of the local malls, and so last night my wife and I, and another couple went to go see 'em play.
And guess what?! When we all got there is was a COVER BAND doin' all of The Who's greatest hits!!!!
And so, I'll tell ya folks, THIS GUY HERE...ahem...won't get fooled again!!!(bada-CHING!!!)
Okay, actually of course I knew it was goin' to be a cover band all along, and actually the band wasn't too bad! The dude channeling Daltrey actually sounded better than poor ol' Roger does today, at least compared to how he sounded at last year's Super Bowl, anyway.
(of course, the kid was probably some 30 years younger than Rog is now)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Oh, I forgot to tell you folks THIS.... About halfway through the concert, my wife Judie, and Jeff's wife, Irene, decided they wanted some ice cream, and so they split to go to the Baskin Robbins around the corner from where the concert was taking place at this mall. When they returned, Judie told me she passed two approx 13 year-olds sittin' outside the ice cream shop eatin' their ice cream cones, and she accidentally overheard THIS "intelligent" conversation as she went by 'em: "Hey dude! Ya wanna go see that concert around the corner?" -"Nah! I don't like that gay '80s music!"

That's funny alright! The '80s was ancient times to a 13 year old I guess eh, Dwight? "The Who." "The WHO?" "The WHO man, that's who!" (and lets not get started on the "Who's on first" thing... that 60s humour just bores me!

Tried?! The movie just kept playing over and over and over again until someone spun the Moody Blues single, 'Legend Of A Mind.' When I head the words "Timothy Leary's dead," the movie stopped.

I'm gonna drop my street cred with you guys through the floor....
I'm seeing a-ha 4 times in Oct-Nov.
I'm actually really looking forward to it. They were the first gig I ever went to back in 91. This is their last ever tour and I'm making the most of it.
There's a local band I like call Goldfish Don't Bounce - I'm trying to get them for our rally in September.... youtube them!
Gina
03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel...
06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel...
09 America - It's very blue....

I was able to get a ticket to the last Yes show for this North American leg out here in the Seattle, WA, USA area. Well, Yes-lite. I wish Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman were part of the line-up but I am looking forward to seeing how Oliver Wakeman fills his old man's shoes. And I would like to hear some of the Drama era pieces. I'll be on the left (keyboard side of course) and just 8 rows back. Looks like I'll have a good view. Alan White lives out here and there are rumours of a surprise. Looks like it's an outdoor concert venue and the weather will be very nice tomorrow night. I wish I could ride the bike but I don't trust the cagers after the show.
