Yeah, my '39, '57 and '76 Harleys all had mechanical anti stop.... ah.... skid brake systems.
The Jensen FF made in the 70's had a 4 WD system originally designed for F1 racing and an anti skid system that were mechanical. The brake control was very interesting because it modulated the vacuum to the power brake booster instead of monkeying with the hydraulic system. If you really wanted to lock up the brakes for some reason, (like swinging the rear around in a tight turn) you could.
