Just wanted to say hello. I'm a 51 year old fairly new rider (got my endorsement for my 50th birthday), and got my America in August 2009. It's my second bike - I was about to buy an HD when I stopped into the local Triumph shop, saw the America, took a test ride, and bought it right then and there. I'm really enjoying this bike - I like the combination of power, handling, and reliability. I have put just over 2000 miles in the three month of ownership. I've been on the RAT site for sometime, but really like the America/Speedmaster-specificness of this site!

Wow... what a cool story and really glad you enjoy the bike so much. Really is a nice feeling to ride 'tis true, but to do it on a Triumph... now that's special!
Good for you man!!

Live to love, love to live.

Well, welcome to the site. Loads of info here and you will learn so much about your bike. Glad it's TriumphLance and not HarleyLance as it could have been. You made the better choice.

Lance,
Welcome to the board and thanks for the kind words on the other thread about my accident.

Don't worry, I came extremely close to buying a Yamaha before my brother played his "mental mojo" on me and got me to reconsider the Triumphs. I have never looked back or regretted the decision. I even went back, a few month later, to see those Yamahas and I was so dang glad I did not buy one.

I look forward to meeting up and riding with you later in 2010.

Steve

Welcome! I was older (59) when I got my Triumph but now have put 20K on it and just returned from a ride in the mountains. Spent Thanksgiving at the Wrightwood fire station. Went on a couple of calls and got to ride in the fire engine! What a blast! Took a great ride along CA2 in the Angeles National Forest that goes along the pacific crest trail. I want to see your part of the country and hope you get a chance to see ours. All we have to do is RIDE!

Enjoy!

Bill

Are you still riding or has the rain/snow slowed you down? We're still riding here in Richland, although have all the warm gear out now. High of 37 today.

Definitely slowing down in North Bend - although, the rest of this week looks to be sunny and in the 30's-40's so I will be getting out. Supposed to be some snow next week.
