... to hit a fire hydrant, a tree, be drifting in and be out of consciousness ... all just after leaving his driveway? Initial reports said he was in a serious condition (I bet his manager was seeing those $ signs drifting away!) No doubt his driveway is longer than your average driveway but still, he must've been giving it the berries!

FT, You can never predict what you are going to find in a RTC. Ive seen cars roll numerous times and people come out with nothing and some people die from a seemingly low speed impact. I think the police should check for Sergio Garcia's finger prints on the throttle cable and brake lines.
Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

And she broke the window "after" the crash?? Maybe why he didn't see the tree or hydrant.

About 10 yrs ago I flipped a full size blazer while doing 85mph.I went end over end once ,flipped sideways twice and skidded on the drivers side for over 60 ft.I walked out of it after trying to bust the front windshield with my feet [not like the movies].I broke my neck and still walked from it.Who knows what damage it would have taken to kill me or cripple me forever.Ive had friends die in wrecks not even half as bad.

That car didn’t know what it was dealing with! Did walking away with a broken neck really surprise you? A Marine is supposed to be the most difficult thing on earth to kill.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but is 'being asleep' a crap excuse to avoid helping police with their enquiries ... ?

Hey, we're dealing with a celebrity here. If he was from your part of the woods he would probably be "Sir Tiger".

You're not wrong! This whole 'one rule for them and one rule for us' crap irks me. Just because someone can kick a bag of wind or hit a ball with a stick doesn't make them any better.

That's true. Just look at the other pro sports stars here. They can get away with just about anything since they have the big bucks for the best lawyers. Michael Vic was one of the few to get caught and punished for his Pit bull ordeal. They are no better then anyone else but they and most of the general public think they are.

If my wife was running after me with a golf club at 2:30 in the morning while I was speeding out of the driveway I'm pretty sure there would be more to the story.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

On the other hand. If this happened to any of us no one would hear about it. If this was Norman Woods in Albuquerque would any of us care? This is the sort of thing that happens fairly often but Tiger is going to be the subject of endless conjecture (much of it likely true) late night talk show jokes and front page tabloid coverage. He seems to be a decent guy but he's going to get a lot more crap over this than any of us would get.

Yep, if I'd been in accident, treated and released from the hospital; it would likely be with some meds. They'd need a warrant to talk to me.

You got that right. Why would he want to "help" the police with ANY inquirys, seems to me I would simply say,"I swerved to miss a deer" then they would ask how fast you were going,in response to that "I was going the speed limit" end of story.

Unless she was running out of the house after him and shouting "Tiger, Tiger you forgot your favourite golf club!"
If he'd forgot his sandwiches for work - breaking the windscreen of the car might have been a bit trickier.

This is what happens when one dallies on a course ...putting around and stroking the nine iron in the wrong hole (pun intended).......
Surely a penalty stroke will end up being assessed .....and the cost may well be millions upon millions in legal monthly payments.
Better to stay on the course under par then in the rough incurring a major bogey.
The late night talk show hosts are no doubt already having a field day with this.

What does Tiger Woods have in common with baby seals?
They both get clubbed by Norwegians

His wife has been interested in taking up golf? 2:30am does sound a bit of an odd time though to start hitting your Woods though.

Ouch on thor "Thor" comment -
I think you're right on his wife's response. In Norse literature they had warriors that fought with such rage and were called "Berserkers" - however, there is some disagreement between scholars as to whether "Ber" meant they wore "bear" skins in battle or they were "bare." Now the latter would have been interesting in this case!

Lotsa tap dancin goin on in the Woods camp. Pity when your rich and famous your infidelities or alleged thereof cannot remain at least somewhat private.
Woods may be paying for this with many below par wins in the future. Not that he will not be able to do so. I see a very well off Nordic Princess living free and easy.

If Mr. Woods rode a Triumph, would it be a TIGER?? On the other hand, he should rather ride a SpeedMaster to help him take off like a Rocket!!

Well, with all the speculation that goes on today about the news in general, I gotta say I kind'a thinkin' Tiger might just have had a little problem with his "floor mats"!!! (uh huh...I mean, are we absolutely SURE Tiger wasn't drivin' a TOYOTA that night???)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
