I'm thankful for a wife who loves me, and vice versa (11 years strong)my health, (never taken it for granted), and all the good food we have available here in the greatest country in the world (with all it's flaws). Happy Turkey Day!

Well shoot! I was going to send a Turkey day post at Midnight, but you beat me to it. I just got back in from a late night motorcycle shop where I got my inspection done. I’m not sure about folks north of the Mason Dixon or across the pond, but around here finding an auto or bike shop open at Midnight is nearly unheard of.
After the shop I was swallowed by Wal-Mart for several hours trying to decide what to get my son for his birthday. Am I alone in feeling like I’ve had an extra terrestrial experience after a trip to Wal-Mart? It seems that I tend to walk out with a loss of time and disoriented. I was able to get my boy the new Mario Brothers game for the Wii. He has been begging me for it since he saw the commercials a month ago. Growing up on Nintendo myself I’m probably as exited about playing it as he is.

Oh, the delectable joys of Chachere's tur-duc-hen and all of the rest of the bountiful table...Happy Thanksgiving one and all!

I'm smoking two turkeys right now, we're having a lot of people over in our small house.

Old Roadie ~~ have you seen the new Thanksgiving creation? It's turboducen ~~ it's a turducen wrapped in bacon. We had a turducen a couple of years ago ~~ absolutely fantastic. I bet the bacon only makes it better. Maybe next year.

A very Happy Thanksgiving to all.
One of the things I am thankful for this year is finding and joing this forum, the welcome I received, the treasure trove of information and options for the bike.
And for the Bourbon Raisin Apple Pecan Pie, the one I hate making so much I'll only make it twice a year, the one we love so much I ALWAYS make it twice a year.

Here's to havin' a great Thanksgiving, folks! And now for those of you here crazy enough to even considering hittin' the stores tomorrow, I offer you this.... When Black Friday comes you won't find me at the mall I'll be ridin' my bike around and havin' a ball (with apologies to Steely Dan)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Ditto, what Dwight said, except for the riding thing, I should be working on honey does. Second thought, maybe I will get in a little ride. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving from the Central San Joaquin Valley here in sunny California, for now that is. Bob and AmyLee

We had some strange founding fathers in the USA. I was watching a history channel documentary on Thanksgiving. They said that Benjamin Franklin thought the bald eagle was a filthy scavenger and wanted to make the turkey our national bird.
I did find it interesting that the turkey is unique to the American continent and was imported to England

Hope everyone had a great day! Ours didn't turn out so well. Last Sunday we took in a woman that was being beaten by her man. (my wife rescues dogs and her heart poured out to this woman and she wanted to help)Long story shortened... she stole my wife's car twice, but the first time was a miscommunication and we gave her a second chance. Last night she borrowed the car to run a 20 min errand. She came back at 3:30 this morning high as a kite. We let her sleep it off on the couch. I woke her around 10 and told her to hit the curb; after finding my wife's cell in the car with all of the recent numbers called erased. I found the call history on Verizon's website. 40+ calls from 11pm to 3AM. most of them were to 5 or 6 numbers multiple times. If this isn't drug seeking behavior, I don't know what is. When I confronted her this AM about her behavior, she said she was doing this for a friend.
I'm thankful to have my house back to normal, but I missed spending time with family and sharing a big meal. Dealing with an addict is no way to spend a holiday.

You get the same number of Karma points for trying or succeeding. You can't always win , it's the willingness to make the effort that counts.

Right on... I've always tried to help people in need, but don't leave me a steaming pile as a Thanks. We all have our limits.
