Jaeger, when I wraped my pipes, I also pulled the airbox put on K&N's, and rejetted to 160 mains. Once I adjusted the feul mixture, and balanced the carbs, I haven't had any heat issues, but I still have a slight pop on decel. I think heat build-up depends on your exhaust and your air-flow (filter). If you are running stock exhaust and stock air-box, your going to run hotter.
