has anyone here considered adding the thunderbird to this site. it looks like it will be a big seller and if so, we are going to need to gather info on any mods that are done to it and any recurring faults that may be problmatic so we can keep each other informed......we know for sure that the factory is not going to do it(think ignitors)......angelis

I like this site as its America / Speedmaster focused , and I think it would degrade this Forum if we introduced the Thunderbird to it. My 2c worth.

We have a niche. I don't see that changing anytime soon. We didn't add a Rocket III forum. I doubt we'll add a Thunderbird forum.

Not to worry my man... just makin' light of the matter 'tis all. But I gotta tell you I got my sights set on that bad ol' t-bird so tread lightly on my thoughts and prayers will ya buddy? She's a bit of a temptress that I see as a potential object of my affection.

Hey the big ones need love to!And I personally believe that every man should own AT LEAST TWO motorcycles, preferably at least 3,and the T-bird would be a good second choice.Oh and I'm not worried,I'm sitting here still laughing at the guys over at Thunderbird1600.com,I get a big kick out getting people riled up!

Don't congratulate yourself too much, nobody got riled up ... we thought your opinion on handling of the Bird and calling people who actually own it delusional, especially since you haven't seen or ridden the bike, was ignorant. Stronger words were also used. You seem proud of this.

The one guy states we are all ignorant and unfriendly, a bit harsh I think. most of us are friendly , nice ,and helpful guys. sending parts to each other for little or no money when needed, helping with tech questions even if asked 1,000 times before. I don't knock Tbird owners or the bike. I just state the things I don't like about it and it is a matter style taste not handling, power, or quality, after all it is a Triumph. The guy who put the slightly lower shocks on has a nice bike but still has some of the qualities I don't like. If there was a way to get rid of that radiator the rest could be fixed for me. I could get a chain on there probably longer fender would be easy, custom sprocket cover also easy. I could live with no fins on the jugs....maybe.

Agreed.
Now, do you think one should pay 12.000$ for a violin?
No kidding, I've been checking them out all day.

It's all in the tone, Thanassis, and the very best fiddles go for millions. For $12K, the player had better be above average to coax out the subtle colorations that make the instrument worth that.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

Daz (formerly Dazco on this site and probably still on T-rat.net) is a total asshat know-it-all. Anything he says about BA.com is sour grapes. I don't care what he rides.

+1 Ian. It's a nice bike, hella fast and plenty of power, just not one I want. I totally understand why the T-Bird owners love them. When I was bike shopping years ago, I looked and looked, and when I saw the America, it was all I could think about getting. It took months to find one, and it was an instant love affair. I just don't get that feeling looking at the Thunderbird. The RIIIT on the other hand...

Which means not for me Ed, but thanks for injecting some experienced reasoning to counter my ... ignorance and lust.
Some magnificent pieces, though.
