Thunderbird owners are getting better mileage then I got on my TBA. They are saying 45-50 mpg. I never got past 43-46 with my TBA. I read in Roadbike magazine where Triumph incorporated fuel and ignition controlled to each cylinder independently, and the T-16 uses 17 percent less fuel than some other cruisers.
Generally this is beggining to sound like Harley bashing thread. Why such animosity for another Triumph? It wasn't this bad when the R-3 was introduced. Dr. Freud might say, hmmm... T-bird envy.
