Congratulations JR,

I know a few EMT's around here, receiving the certificate is no easy task. Having said that, had I'd woke up last July to see you cutting my jeans off that might have blown my feeble mind

Good luck man

Well done matey.

Are you going to do your paramedic next?

Just one thing I still find unusual is that when you need an ambulance in the States you get a fire engine come out.

Although it's good news if you are on fire.

In most cases, the firefighters respond as well to remove impediments such as doors, walls and heavy machinery that may be blocking access to the injured person the EMTs are attempting to reach. In other towns, maybe they just want to sound the horn and siren and show off the shiny red engine and chrome! God Bless 'Em, Each and Every One!

I live in a rural area & our VFD usually beats the ambulance there by 10-15mins. that's a whole lot of time if you are in need of immediate help.

we should do this every weekend!

yeah I can understand that. Just seems odd that they don't have ambulance responder cars in remote places like over here so that you don't have to send a whole fire crew.

I have been doing a bit of ringing around and trying to find out if my paramedic diploma is valid over in the USA but no joy there, so unless I go back to college and re learn all the stuff I've already learned it looks like...

"Would you like fries with that sir?"

Congratulation, young man! Well done!

And now what say we put into practice this newfound discipline of yours here. We'll start with an easy one for ya....What do you suggest can be done about this tennis elbow which I seems to have a recurring problem with lately?

(yeah, I know...this isn't exactly an "emergency" now is it?!...never mind)

Better that than a question about hemorrhoids!

Congrats little tall brother. mac304dutch is right, keep your certs up to date. I let my EMT certs and LPN license expire in the eighties, since I was working as a pipefitter. That caused me to miss several great opportunities. We'll meet up in the spring for a south Kentucky ride.

As PM'd good on ya Bro! I have to re cert by this spring for my EMT-P NEVER let it laps, they show no mercy or any excuse if it lapses, it is done and you have to re-take it all. And we know how fun that is!
