I see nothing wrong with learning to be a better rider even in tight situations. I mean its not like your going to go out and do "manuvers" everytime you ride.
I can say this for sure...even doing what little practicing I have done on my own in a parking lot has given me more confidence in my abilities and therefore made me a better rider.
