Agree, whole heartedly!
As a teen, when I was begging Mom & Dad for a bike, Mom's answer was a solid "NO." A co-worker of hers (former FHP Motor Officer) told her that riding a bike FIRST would make me a better driver in a car. Based on his advice, she relented and I was on two wheels (a Sears 106 mind you, but hey, it was mine). I still use those anticipation skills and am glad to say that they've saved me more than once.
I passed the same advice to my kids.
