just wondered because I can get Harley parts almost at cost.
Working in DC I happened on a guy who rides a HD as part of one of the many govt security units in the District and stopped to chat about his machine. He said it was borrowed as his was down for brakes. He said they're required to ride American, thus the HD, but many would rather ride anything else. To get to the connection, he said something like 6 machines were down waiting for brake pads, that the HD pads had come off the rivets and just fallen out. Even if you find some that fit, you may want to stay away from HD branded pads. Most of the guys wanted to get Victorys but the senior guys were stuck on the Motor Company.
And hey, that's not a knock from me, that's just what the guy said.
-Typical Harley Owners - DO NOT BE ALARMED- This may be true as it relates to 'service' cycles, however, it is unlikely to happen to Harleys in civilian use. It is very hard to wear out a set of pads while on a trailer.
