That's the same motor they put in the Mustang, right? There should be plenty of performance parts available. But it will never be as cool as the old 5.0.
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

There are lots and lots of things available for that engine. You can go to the Mustang or Ford truck forums and be overwhelmed with information.

try these out www.f150online.com or www.fordf150.net or www.myhotf150.com .havent done anything to my 04 F150 5.4L except put in a K&N .a mate of mine put in a cold air intake and upped the exhaust to a 3 inch (i think.on his 02 4.6L)it sounds awesome,he says it gave him more power. hes also been toying with a power commander type of thingy recently but i havent heard anything from him about it . i use my truck for hunting and fishing and would rather have better gas milage than power, my truck is an absolute gas pig. enjoy your new truck mate

I have a 2002 F-150 with the same power plant. I put in a K&N intake system and a Borla cat-back (single-side out). I put both on at the same time and the difference was amazing. I could instantly tell the engine was able to "breath" so much better. Decent little boost in power for just a few inexpensive bolt-ons. I also have a Superchips programmer for when I'm feeling froggy. Again, not MASSIVE power improvements, but definately fun. It will poop and get, make no mistake about it.
I bought my truck new in late 2001 and put the bolt-ons about a year and a half later. I've recently just gone over 115K miles and it still runs like a champ. The only engine issues I've had since purchase is to change out a spark plug and an ignition coil (on separate occasions). I firmly believe those simple bolt-ons, religiously doing scheduled maintenace and not getting TOO crazy with the lead foot is the reason my truck is still running as great as it is. Open up the airways and you'll be amazed.
2005 America, green/gray, gutted stock pipes, tall sissy bar w/ luggage rack, Saddleman's dual touring seat and Tourmaster saddlebags (and sissybar bag).

Well from what I understand, the 4.6 is what's in the lightning as well. If I were you, I'd see if you could get your hands on one of those superchargers. That baby will scream. I'd be careful though, you don't want to end up like the saying goes... F''ker only roles downhill.
