I don't have the heated stuff but I do have some pretty good cold weather gear. I cut it off at about 35 degrees F because I really hate ice when I'm on two wheels, and you never know. I'll go for local rides but not the hour plus stuff below 45 degrees or so. Above that I just dress warm and keep dry.
One of my favorites is a woman I used to work with who once asked me if the windchill bothered me on blustery days. I explained that pretty much every day is windy on a motorcycle. 
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
