I like Jameson (for a blended). Otherwise, I like Macallan, Balvenie, Oban and when I'm feeling a bit smokey I get into Cu Dubh (a replacement for the departed Loch Dhu).
I would be unstoppable if not for law enforcement and physics.

I have been know to throw down on Yukon Jack, but that's a rarity. And yes, it's better to throw down on it than throw up

Single Malt Scotches; Glenlivet, Glenfiddick, Et al. Though I did come across a bottle (1 gallon milk jug actually) of shine once at a fiddlers convention in North Carolina. Uummm! Went down so smooth, but I coulda swore there were lightning bolts coming out my fingertips.

Spent some time living & working at Montserrat WI years ago, before the volcano buried the place. No taxes on booze - top shelf black or red label bar scotch, 30 cents per glass. Buy the whole bar a round for 5 or $10. Mr. Big Shot whitey boy. Anywho - a good single malt or Crown Royal go down pretty smooth like. Better yet when some fresh ice melts in to it.

Love me ol' Rusty Nails. Take a fine single malt, mix equally with Drambuie (also a Scotch) pour over ice, lightly stir, and let sit at room temp for about 5 minutes so the ice has a chance to melt a bit. Mmmmm, mmmm!!!

Ah! I see you are familiar with the Tom T. Hall song (one of my favorites). -------------------------------------------------------------
I Like Beer (Tom T. Hall)
In some of my songs i have casually mentioned The fact that i like to drink beer This little song is more to the point Roll out the barrel and lend me your ears
(Chorus:) I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (makes him feel mellow) Whiskey's too rough, champagne costs too much, vodka puts my mouth in gear This little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact i like beer (he likes beer)
My wife often frowns when we're out on the town And i'm wearing a suit and a tie She's sipping vermouth and she thinks i'm uncouth When i yell as the waiter goes by
(Chorus)
Last night i dreamed that i passed from the scene And i went to a place so sublime Aw, the water was clear and tasted like beer Then they turned it all into wine
I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (makes him feel mellow) Whiskey's too rough, champagne costs too much, and vodka puts my mouth in gear Aw, this little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact i love beer (yes, he likes beer)

Hmmm, so many good ones. Lately Oban, Glenfiddich, and Dalwhinnie (a new one I discovered in Scotland this summer when I stumbled upon the distillery and just had to visit/sample). Do like a bit of Knob Creek and Woodford if paying homage to more local spirits.

Yes, definitely Balvenie. Love the stuff! Btw I have a bottle of blended >30 yo Whisky saved for next weekend when we're having a poker tournament between six geezers my age and our sons 'round thirty. Thought it would be a perfect start of the weekend before the cheaper stuff kills all tastebuds. And yes, we all suck when it comes to poker, but we do have a lot of fun and laughs (and a lot of whisky...)!
