The link was a snap link. Won't do that again after I have seen the damage that can occur , and my damage is minimal. I could've broke the case, that would've been bad. Big bore the cause? I don't think so. It was a DID 525 x ring and am assured that the chain would hold up. I can't tell cuz there is no link but maybe the clip came off and then the front plate worked off and then we have something about 20% of the strength of the chain. The way I ride into these corners in my area where I was heading, I am glad it happen where it did or I would have simply shot right off the side of the mountain. Have the pressed link on the same chain cuz all the links are good to go and she's flyin' high.
