I almost bought the previous Z1000 before I picked up my tiger. The deciding factor for me was I've already got one toy bike (the Speedy) and so my second should be more practical.
The Z is super comfy, crazy fun and a looker, (I prefer the previous gen's looks) and a great commuter, but no wind protection and tougher on bags, so Tiger it was.
Go ride that thing, though. It'll be a blast for sure and you wont see as many of those around as you would with a speed trip.
