For the record I've got an '04 speedy with no AI, no top snorkle and 19" emgo turn-outs. 130/42 3.5 turns

I bought this bike used about 7 months ago with a little over 2000 miles on it. Since then I've done an oil and filter change and I've noticed that about every 1000 miles or so I end up running a quart low on oil.The problem is that I have no idea how this bike was broken in or with what oil.

It's not leaking any thing, so I assume it's oil getting past the rings or past the valve seals. Also worth noting is that the left hand exhaust has more soot build up than the right.

I was wondering if any of you have experienced this and what you've had to do to fix it.
