Two weeks ago we had an record breaking early season cold snap, dropping to single digits fahrenheit, who knows what in celsius

The broadleaf trees (cottonwood, maple, aspen etc) hadn't yet started to "turn". The upshot is we have gone sraight from green to dead brown. No brilliant yellows and reds. It's a colourless landscape for us this year. The question now is "Will these leaves fall normally, or hang around and slowly drop like dead flies throughout the pending winter?"
