I went to the Thunderbird Roadshow today at the local Triumph dealer. While I'm not a big fan of the styling (really hate the bobbed rear fender). The engine was quite impressive. They had an engine on a stand that they took it apart to show some of the advances. Took it apart in around 10 min (most of the case covers only had two screws fastened for quicker disassembly). It appears to be very easy to get the heads/cams off (can be done in situ) as well as access to clutch, oil and water pump and alternator. Big mother pistons. One only needs to split the case for access to the crank and transmission. They were pushing the big bore kit which increases power by 20% if you believe the sales pitch.

They had a little presentation that advised Triumph worldwide sales are very strong and plans to introduce two additional models in 2010, one of which has already been leaked (Rocket Roadster). There are additional models in the 2011 lineup. No plans to scrap the 900cc Crusier (i.e. America/Speedmaster) but could not confirm if they will consolidate to one model.

Thats it for now.
