I replaced the rear tire on my Triumph. I got my old tire off, the new tire on and I haven't had any problem filling the tire and having it hold air. I filled it to 60psi, replaced the valve core and refilled it to 40 psi. I ran my finger around the outside of the rim and it feels like it's seated, it holds air with no leaks (soapy water test). However, the tire bead never did 'pop' when I filled it.
I've deflated the tire several times, pushed it off the rim and refilled it again with the same results, no 'pop'.
Does a tire bead have to 'pop' to set the bead?
