Last week I fell with my daughter (duo).
Making a U-turn very slowly, but the bike ripped on the road. No one was injuried. I broke the left mirror and the clutch handle.

I replace them on friday.

Saturday morning, I was waiting at a Stop (with my daughter again). While I began riding, turning on the left, the engine stops (not warm enough)! I fell again. I broke the clutch handle again !

I'm 1,75 m tall, 89 kg . But this bike is very hevy. More with a passenger.
I could not carry it when falling.

That will cost me a lot if I fall every day

I do not read/write english very well. Thank's to be patient. Triumph America/Speedmaster French community : http://www.yogourtnoway.com

at least your Daughter is ok!

This wont help you if the bike isnt warmed up but for help with low speed manuvering (u turns and such) you can get this DVD: Ride Like a Pro V

I practice on occasion and am getting pretty good with U turns in tight areas. I also noticed that my cornering got better...maybe it was just confidence

Thierry, I'm sorry to hear this.

Now, I can not recall if you've told us before how much total riding time you have had on motorcycles, but if it is not that much time, then I would respectfully suggest to you here that you put at least another 6 months to a year of solo riding experience under your belt before you allow anyone to ride pillion with you.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Sounds like that girl is a jinx! If she is old enough, get her a bike of her own.

Remember the bike will go where your eyes look. If you look down when turning you will fall over. just sayin!
Be careful friend.

I dropped mine when practicing for my liscense. With respect,is it an america or speedy your riding? If you think they are a heavy bike maybe a bit of leg strengthening would be in order. Please dont take your daughter out anymore till you are profficient. That could have happened in front of a moving vehicle.Im glad it didnt as I know you are.

Be careful here, our French friend. I once admitted that I had dropped my bike twice, and this after 35 years of riding, and a lot of my friends here laughed and poked fun at my manliness. It nearly hurt one of my feelings....

You could invest in Nerf clutch levers ...

Thank you all for tips.
Now I ride very carefully, specially low speed manuvering . I put my foot forward and make clutch skating (a few).
I also make the engine running before starting riding from stop. (I don't want the engine stops at this moment).

I do not ride for a long time, but I'm not a noob. Maybe I'll have a session with Motorcycle school for slow manuvering. That could be usefull for me.

I already ride yamaha, HD and others and never fell.

America is not so heavy . but when it starts falling, trying to maintain it up is hard with a passenger.

I'll receive shortly Tsukayu hard saddlebags. I have to be more carefull otherwise damages will be more expansive

Don't know if this had anything to do with why you fell but be sure to instruct your passenger not to move around when at slow speed and to stay with you when you lean.

Wow, people were nice. I mentioned I fell twice in 3 years and was told to "never ride again" and "you need help".
