Well, I got my Fox Creek jacket today in the mail. Based on members opinions here, thought I'd give Fox Creek a try. Well, it AIN'T no Langlitz. So, I'll be sending it back. In fairness, its only half the price of a Langlitz and I got what I paid for. Should have known better than to listen to the sales hype when I called 'em. Its just that once you've had the best..well, you get the idea.

I've been very happy with my jacket from Chillhowee. But that could be because I've never had a Langlitz. They do look to be the ultimate. (pricewise too).

I found that you do pay for what you get. Therefore I bought the best jacket I could. Walden Miller in Australia(Kangaroo skin) and the best tyres. That few inches is all that keeps you on the road.

Just sent for a catalog. Thanks for the link! Time to replace my 25 year old jacket but I've not seen a jacket that looks like mine, with the required quality. Till now. Thanks again for the Link! Buy the way, the link to the Lap Apron features a Triumph!

I had the opportunity to buy my Langlitz motor-cop jacket that was custom built for me when I when I left th PD back in '94. Thought, 'what'll I need that thing for?' Ah...hindsight. I guess I'm gonna have to make the trip to Portland, get fitted and pay the big $$. Once you've had filet mignon, top sirloin just ain't cuttin' it.

I was passing through Libby, MT last summer & stopped at the local supermarket. The woman checking out asked if "that was a Langlitz?". She continued "I have two of them!". Life is funny that way. Now I need to fill out the measuring form for a pair of pants. It's hard (impossible) to purchase leathers that fit with a 37-38" inseam off the rack.

I got a nice vented jacket from Hot Leathers in Daytona Beach for $99. It has held up well especially for the price!

Didn't like the Fox Creek? Hunh. Wow, alls I can say is the Langlitz jackets must be orgasmic, 'cause I love my FC! *shrug*
[EDIT] -- So out of curiosity I went and looked 'em up -- nice jackets, but STARTING at $650? Heh. Yikes. I'll stick with FC. I can't help but think that the point of diminishing returns fairly quickly there.

The difficult part is, and I guess this is true of just about anything, is that you have to actually fondle the product. Fox Creek makes a noble attempt by sending you a piece of their leather, but that still doesn't suffice. I've just never seen anything as good as a Langlitz. I'd have probably kept the Fox Creek if it had fit better because it is a good product for $400. Well, $419, cost me $19 to send it back.

Good point about the rubber on the road. A fine set of tires can save you from ever having to test a leather jacket. I run with Avon Venom X and will buy another set once they go south.
