Okay, I admit it. I have merchandise envy. Why can’t we Triumph riders have a large selection of Triumph logo merchandise so we, too, can bask in the warming light of the Triumph trademark? Also, if I travel to another dealership in another state, I want a Triumph dealership t-shirt dang it!

Buying a Triumph motorcycle is a choice, not a concession; so as we stand behind the company, they should stand behind our loyalty and pander to our (or at least my) desire for crass commercialism! I’ve been to the Triumph website store where the limited selection leaves me with self pitying tears in my eyes. Needless to say, Triumph dealerships only carry a small portion of that merchandise. I am envious and I am sad.

Well first of all Cindy....WHERE THE HECK HAVE YA BEEN KEEPIN' YOURSELF LATELY???

Haven't seen ya around much, ya see.

And secondly...I can see your point here alright, 'cuz as I rode through europe this past summer, I too also stopped by a couple of Triumph shops over there, but none of 'em had T-shirts made to advertise their individual shops at all.

Nope. And seeing as how one could probably find a T-shirt out there that might even say somethin' like "Harley-Davidson of Bangladesh" on it , I kind'a wonder why there's not more Triumph dealers out there who might print up a few T-shirts with THEIR names on it too!

(yep...kind'a weird ain't it?!)

Hi Dwight!

First, I was tearing up the roads out here, then the company thought they would send me to Tampa for a while. It was either bring the bike or the laptop . . . bike won. I'm being sent to Kansas in December. This time I'll bring the latop . I was back in California in August . . . went to the Rock Store - avoided the fires.

You are right. You can buy anything with the H-D logo and all dealerships advertise their shops on t-shirts. As most Triumph dealerships are usually paired with other Euro bikes, I am disappointed when I find nifty gloves or a cool hat only to find that it reads "Ducati". If I want to tart myself up with the Triumph logo they should be willing to pimp me out!

I like that!

Good point.

And, I'm sorry I missed runnin' into ya somewhere along Mulholland Hwy when ya were out this way.

(I meant SEEIN' ya here, not really "runnin' into" ya here, of course)

THOUGH, that reminds me...I was at the Rock Store a couple Sunday's ago and on my way there I saw a "first" for me...not one, not two, but THREE squids had crashed within A MILE of the place!!! And, the last one was right there at that last turn just before you get there.

And soooo, as I got to that last crash site, I slowed down and stopped the Spyder for a second, and the cop who was writin' up the incident looked over my way, and I said to him, "Looks like there's a whole lot'a squids out here today, huh Officer?"

And, he gave me back a look of resignation, shook his head and said, "Yep! I think this good weather today is bringin' 'em all out!"

Please say they were at least on the road that heads east (away from PCH). You shouldn't be allowed a motorcyle license if you can't make the trip approaching from east to west! Those crotch rocketeers shouldn't speed through the hairpins if they can't hold their line (or their Corona)!

OH!!! And I forgot to tell ya THIS....

Later on, while me and a few of my buddies were sittin' up over there in the bar area, we struck up a conversation WITH that officer who I had had that quick conversation at that turn, as he was chowin' down his lunch.

And THEN about 20 minute later, he heard some guy on a Ducati who was leavin' the parking lot spinout and lose it goin' in that same direction east! "BuuuuuuUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRR, CRASH!!!"

My friends, myself AND the officer all look up to see a bunch of people runnin' down that direction to see if the guy was alright. And so we all got up, including the officer, and started heading that way too!

And THEN it hit ME!!! That squid had been heading RIGHT TOWARDS where I had parked the Spyder!!!

And I as we hurried toward said squid, I heard the officer, who was a few paces ahead of me say loud enough for me to hear..."Well, it looks like the only thing he may have hit was that black Porsche parked over there!" And I said "HOLY CRAP, THAT's what I was WORRIED ABOUT!!!!

And then the cop turned around and said to me.."Nawwww...GOTCHA!!! HE missed it!!!"

(yep...it took me a second to start laughin' after THAT ONE, alright!!!)

Oh, and speaking of souvenirs, I did buy a Rock Store t-shirt. That money could have been in the coffers of the Triumph dealer much further down PCH!

Well, Matt Capri IS evidently one of the few dealers to actually print his own Triumph T-shirts with the name of their shop on it, ya know.

Welllll, when ya DO come back again, I fully expect you to look me up once you're here and maybe we'll do the ol' Rock Store thing while we're at it!

'Cuz ya know...OTHER THAN all those squids(who in some way I guess are kind'a "entertaining" to behold) AND all those darn straight-piped Harley riders who appear to hold a deep and abiding need to be noticed beyond all measure of reason...the Rock Store IS kind of a fun place to hang out occasionally!

Wow, I had no idea. My bike was delivered with a complimentary Triumph t-shirt (dealer logo) which my wife quickly adopted. If I recall correctly they had a bunch of hats, shirts, alpine stars gear that's all Triumph badged etc... Is this not the case all over, or is there a whole new level being desired?

Not sure if many dealers do it but my dealer has been selling Triumph since the late 50's if memory serves (could be early 60s) and right up until they stopped importing them to the US. They have always had Triumph logo shirts and sweat shirts and such with their shop name on the back. I have old ones and new ones from them since I have been dealing with them for Triumph parts for 20+ years.

My dealer also has a fetriumph shirts, but very few. And the logo is very understated. I too wish there was more logo stuff out there. Baxter cycles has a great t shirt, with a lion rampant and British flag logo. And one of the things I really dig, is the Brit colors.

Baxter has some good shirts, I prefer the ones with the Triumph logo on the front and the Baxter Cycle circle on the back with BSA- Norton- Triumph in the center.

Also, Engles Motors In Kansas City does their own shirts.

Were do you live in Iowa? Any where near Mt Pleasant? My nephew plays football there at IWC.

Yep, Mt. Pleasant is just 30 miles up the road from me. Don't know anything about sports, though. But my cousin's wife just finished college there. The school has a good rep.

This is a pretty good offering from Triumph. The little write up is done on a patch sewn on the inside of the shirt. A guy at our table won one o' these at the Nelson RAT Raid this year.

Yeah, I have that shirt too, Keith. However, I think Cindy wasn't talkin' about "offical" Triumph shirts from their catalogue, but was talkin' more about shirts done locally by individual Triumph dealerships thoughout their worldwide dealer network, such as has South Bay Triumph and Baxter Cycle, as mentioned above.

At least I THINK she was anyway.

I DO know last time I visited the Triumph dealership up your way in Kelowna back in July '08, they didn't have any made.

Dang, I just ordered some parts from Baxter for my '66. I should have asked about a shop t-shirt. Oh well, next time.

It looks like Triumph may be listening. I was at my local dealer today and talking with the parts guys and they said Triumph was coming out with a lot more apparel and a greater variety of prices. Both casual wear and riding gear. It would be nice to see them make a dealer template shirt similar to the Harley shop shirt - if that is not blasphemy.

Since people have to stop at every Harley shop along their route just to keep the bike
running, I always assumed that the excellent choice of merchandise in their shops was
to give people something to do while their bike was being fixed.

The conversation may go something like this; “I just got back from a trip from
Galveston, TX to Boulder, CO. Here are the T-Shirts I bought when I got my bike fixed
at Harley-Davidson of Houston, Waco, Fort Worth, Wichita Falls, Memphis, Amarillo,
all in Texas. Then I had to have major work done in Boise City OK before stopping to
have the same leak repaired in Springfield CO, and one more stop at Colorado Springs
to have the Headlight Fluid topped off before the final stretch.”

Hey Rev, I think your believing the HD BS bashing that goes on a little too much

HDs from the 90's onward are fairly rock solid, dependable bikes. My previous, stock '07 Sportster never had any issues, and it could rum rings around a lot of Jap HD clones out there. The 2 HD owners I occasionally ride with (on a '98 and a '01) have never had quality issues either. To compare apples to apples, the HDs of yore were another story, especially in the 70's. But, pre-Hinckley Triumphs (as well as other Brit brands) were just as bad. The slogan for Brit bikes back then was "Ride it, wrench it, repeat".

I will, however, offer the opinion that the dealers have all these shirts done so the weekend posers have a reason to ride to a particular dealer on a nice Sat. or Sunday.

As to the original topic, I agree with Cyn. I'd like to be able to buy dealer logo's shirts from different locations. The Dealer where I bought mine has one, and the dealer in Greensboro NC has some nicer ones. But that's all I've found.

I did get some nice Bonneville 50th Anniversary ones from the UK, and I have a neat one from the the Baltimore Triumph club, but I'd like to have more.

No I don't believe Harley’s are that bad. My post was tongue
in cheek. I will say that I believe Harley thinks too highly of
their product. I would be more receptive to buying one if
they dropped their out the door prices to the MSRP on their
website.
Hey, I'm not prejudiced. I have a friend who rides a Harley.

Some Triumph dealers do print their own Triumph shirts. D&D of Pensacaloa, FL does and I have a couple. I like them better than the UK versions as they are US made and cut a little longer and bigger.

They have the classic Triumph on the front and D&D Cycles info on the back. They also have the Triumph triangle logo on the sleeve and they sell 3 colors, I think. I have black and navy ones.
