No bike should ever be "complete" should always be a work in progress!

I say nothing, to the wife just order and then say "I Thought I had already told you", seems to work for me. My bike will be a long time before it is complete, even the stuff I have bought for it, I may change as stuff improves or looks better.....

That's my tactic as well. They're never really complete.

Remember when dealing with the wife it is always easier to ask for forgiveness than it it to ask for permission. That way you go what you want when you wanted it.

Wife? What's that? I am unfamiliar with this term. I see guys talking about them here all the time but I've never figured out where to buy one or how much they cost (initial purchase plus ongoing maintenance). Apparently they mount on the pillion seat some how. Velcro? Self-sealing stem bolts?

I got this thing in the mail, I am going to wait till it's warm to place it. It has a bit of weight to it.

I have found the best option for reasoning with the wife is to say "it is to make the bike safer to ride" or "the old one is broken". They alway's like to hear you are looking after your self by making it safer....
Just like when i ordered my D&D's, I said "loud pipes save lives"

TBA, Stainless extractors / drag pipes, 65mm over forward controls, Thruxton needles, 904cc, head ported, lowered 1-inch, Console removed, relocated battery box, Australia.

Last year I spent the winter cutting things off the bike to make it mine. This year I've spent the winter adding things to get to Georgia, Memphis Shades Alley Cat, Bikers friend XL Bag, and a set of custom saddle bags from the Carlisle Pa. show a couple of years ago. It's starting to look like a big touring bike. I keep telling the wife it's cheaper than a 61 Vette. My ML crisis car.

I finally confessed to my wife. She said today after another package arrived..."Are you not happy with your bike?, you keep changing and buying stuff (if she only knew)". I told her when you buy a bike that is only the first step, it is a "standard" configuration and the spending just begins.
She said "Ahh, You didn't tell me that when you bought it!", "No kidding" was my response.

You guys are missing the operative word, accessorize. Your wife will understand if you explain your actions in terms she can relate to.

That is to say, you tell her that the bike purchase was like her buying a nice dress. You are just getting accessories for you bike as she does for her dress - such as matching shoes, matching purse, matching gloves, matching hat (I'm showing my age here), matching jewelry, matching make-up....

Hmm... I wonder if that Rocket badge could be altered to fit on the front fender tip...
