You will appreciate the raised rev limit on the 790 engines. The disconnected TPS would lock the unit in the wide open throttle mode which would see the advance. Not sure if that would affect anything. You could leave the TPS hooked up and see an improvement. Might need to go to a higher octane fuel if you get some pinging/preignition. Won't hurt to test by disconnecting the TPS for a short while.
