Announcing the first cruiser/classic ride for the 2006 TRAP riding season! We will be leaving Cascade Moto Classics on Sunday, March 6th at 10:00 AM to head off to Tillamook.

This will be more than just a cruiser/classic bike ride, it is also a back in the saddle ride. All riders are invited. This ride will also be an excellent opportunity for riders that haven’t ridden much over the winter and may feel a little bit rusty, and especially for beginning riders to gain some confidence, get to know their bikes better and gradually build their skills as the start of the ride will be easier than the return trip.

We will take the Sunset Hwy to Hwy 6 to Tillamook. In Tillamook there is that loop that goes along the coast through Netarts and Oceanside. After shooting the loop, we will head back to Tillamook to have lunch at the world famous Tillamook Cheese Factory. After eating lunch, there is the option for people to head back the way that we came or head North on Hwy 101 to Girabaldi and cut across the mountain back to the Sunset Hwy then back home.

Just got back not long ago. It was definitely a good ride. Cut short a little because of some very dark clouds up north from Tillamook, but very good and enjoyable.

There were five of us in all on four bikes, Roger (Speedracer) took his wife along. We left Cascade Moto Classics shortly after 10:00 this morning. the sky was dark and the air was wet. As we got past Banks and up the mountain (if you consider 1800 ft, a mountain) it started to get very misty. The temp was very cool out, so I stopped to put my rain gear on (note to self get new raingear and attempt to clean melted raingear off of pipes). As we got over the top of the mountain the sun started to come out some, and the roads started to dry off. After getting through Tillamook, somehow we made a wrong turn, but no big deal, and found ourselves in Oceanside and got a spectacular view of the coast. We headed north along the coast and back to Tillamook and had lunch at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. After eating we went separate ways. I was going to head north on 101 to Garibaldi and catch Miami River Road, but the clouds looked pretty dark and thick up north, so I took the easy way out and took Hwy 6 back to Beaverton.

All in all, not a bad for the first official ride of the year, especially for the Pacific Northwest.

Sue and I had a great time riding with you guys and the weather was actually pretty nice. Looking forward to many more rides this Spring and Summer!

Looks like you beat the tourist season on the beach, even caught some blue sky. Anybody go swimming? See you folks this summer.

John, we definitely were early for the tourist season, in fact it looks like we may get some snow here this week. No swimming, the tide was so low it was too far to walk
