A while back, there was a long thread on here about idiots parking their cars in handicapped and no parking zones in front of the store. Yesterday, as I was going into the grocery store, there was the usual car parked right out in front of the doors, with two young people in it. I don't usually say anything, but this time I was being a little cranky, and as I walked by, I talked loud enough to myself that they would hear it..."Huh, I wonder what that sign means, NO PARKING-FIRE LANE?" As I figured, the passenger just laughed, and made some kind of comment to her friend, "yeah, that's right.....etc."
When I came out ten minutes later, they were still there, but I just went on by. I wanted to tell them they were idiots, but you know how it is, ya just want to go home to eat without raising your blood pressure. Later, I thought about it, and called the local police station, and asked the dispatcher, "If someone called about this on a cell phone, would a cop show up to make them move or give them a ticket?" She said, "sure, as long as there wasn't something more important."
But then I thought, am I being a bigger jerk than they are by calling the cops? I don't want to be an a$$, but these people really tick me off. And there is a real potential for an accident here, as small children can't be seen leaving the store doorway with a car or two in front of it. What say you, O Wise Ones of the Board? Call or no?
