I am modifying easy brackets and Hepco&Becker brackets for this arrangement. I am also going to put a trunk bracket, and trunk with backrest pad. Total capacity will end up being 125 liters, with room to add more if I feel the need. I like the concept of this style bag, but wasn't sure how they would look. While riding with a couple BMW guys, and after spending around 1200 miles on the bike in just a few days, which included two 450 mile stints I decide to try these. You guys/gals don't have to like 'em but overall, they look good, and better than I thought they would. The grain in the bags matches the color and texture of the Speedy's engine side covers.

I got these on ebay with the brackets for 100 dollars. I have Triumph decals coming to go over the Hepco and Guzzi decals on there now.

So the bags click off the EZ bracket?

Doesnt look like your going for looks...more utilitarian. Looks like a good solution to me with great convenience!

They come off the brackets, and the brackets come off the bike, so I can ride naked! It certainly doesn't look like a Road King or anything, but I think it looks as good as a leather bag on most bikes. This is the bag I think I'll end up with and they snap right on.

have your fun! I knew it was coming.
As I said, I think they look better than typical leather bags and bundles people tend to pack on when traveling. What's cool is they come off really easily when not wanting to ride with bags, and they are much more convenient than any standard "cruiser" bag by a long shot.

Those don't look too bad, and I bet they hold a ton of stuff! Plus with that price, you can't lose!

I like 'em. Last week, I missed a similar set of "Craigslist" bags by 5 minutes. He wanted $30 and was in my neighborhood!

You go dude, they look good enough and nobody will be laughing on a long cruise when you're able to pull out all the comfort gear. ANd you can still take it off when not long hauling. Its a score.

They kind of look like BMW R1150RT bags. To me when you are on a trip, volume and being waterproof is more important then beauty. Plus the price makes them look even better.

I didn't say "they" said they were good looking. I was riding with them, and the gear they were using was a hellofalot more convenient than what I was using.

I am the one that thinks they look pretty good.
I take no offense, although you're pushing the envelope there! every branch....

I like the bike with no bags at all. Certainly looks best that way, but when I need to take stuff, or go on the road, these will be the s''t, and better than most of what you guys use. Ugly yeah maybe, better looking to me than leather, and certainly more convenient.

Hepco & Becker Junior bags. They are NOT cheap if you buy new, although no more expensive than any good hard bag. The problem is you're going to find the brackets are stupid expensive too. All German designs, and tough stuff.

Oh and their website sucks: http://www.hepco-becker.de/_eng/frameset.php

Yeah, stupid expensive is not something I can deal with right now.
I would like to get some hard bags one day, but then I would like
to have many things "one day."

As for now I'll just have to continue tying my stuff in a plastic bag
before I drop it in the leather one.

Don't listen to the haters. There's nothing wrong with function over form (just look at the Rocket III). There's really nothing wrong with frugality over form, too. Everything doesn't have to be cool.

Yeah, what FJ said.

Waterproof and convenient becomes cool over time.

The first NY rally I went to I had 2 Nelson Riggs sissybar bags on my bike. They have 4 wide velcro straps to hold them to the sissy bar. I put one on the rear luggage rack and one on the parcel rack. This required alternating cinching up the straps around the sissybar - front bag strap/rear bag strap X 4...
I got to the hotel parking lot and checked in as it started to rain. I went back to the bike and started unstrapping the bags like some kind of demented weaver bird when a guy pulls in on a BMW. He says hello, grabs his key, click click - he's got both his side bags off and is headed into the hotel. I'm still un-velcroing then re-velcroing....
The NR bags are waterproof, but they sure weren't convenient.

You done good.

Some of the coolest bags I've seen were a pair of old medium sized Samsonite hard plastic luggage bags bolted onto an old high mileage critter bit bike. I forget the make. An old Kawi Concours maybe?

All that pretty & spotlessly clean stuff is just a headache in the making.

Yeah, me too agree with FJ as well.

I've always said that if I had a conflict between looks and function, the function would win every time. Within reason of course. Motorbikes are built for a reason moreso to transport than to sit and look nice like a Dumb Blonde (no offence to anyone please, just making a point).

Now whilst I probably wouldn't have bought yours myself cos I like the look of dumb blondes, sometimes these conservative librarian glasses wearing brunettes can really grow on ya, and besides, there is a shi#load of positives about them of a practical nature and that includes the price.

I bought a pair of Hepco and Becker Buffaloes (the ones without the studs) but boy did they cost some moolah.

For me they look brilliant (at work so can't proviced a pic) and being H&B they are pure quality which made it a snack to add easy brackets without any need for re-inforcing the back.

BUT, they wouldn't hold as much as yours and I can't believe how cheap yours were. So yeah, you've got yourself a pr of very functionable hard bags there which just needs a few Triumph Decals (like you aim to) to Triumphantise them.

Nice purchase and anyway, you like the look of them and that's all that matters

Hepco bags AND brackets for $100! Yikes, that's the deal of the century! I like them, the black blends in and you won't find a better functioning bag. If you are going to tour and need to carry dry clothes, etc those bags are the way to go. Ask all the BMW riders with 100k+ on their bikes/bags. Plus, yours pop off if you are just styling. Nice.

Nice job on your setup! I hate you. Worried about what your ride looks like when trekking? Then you taint trekking! My wet stuff gets placed under bungies, flapping in the breeze when underway. And for good measure have been known to get a brown plastic grocery bag, place two apples in it, and hang that low off the luggage rack...

I'm looking forward to finishing the set-up and taking my next comfortable tour.
I'll post more photos then.

phase one done. Next is the trunk mount.

Took this for a 30mile run, no problems, no aero issues.

I've thought about making saddlebags out of a couple of these, but I think I'll just get one and make a luggage rack mount for it

All you have to do is make an adapter. It has a mount. That's a pretty convenient case.
