Some of the fellows have reported different noises from the speedo. Here is a link to a member who had a grinding noise from his due to an improperly seated cable. http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...true#Post414797

I imagine you could also get a high frequency whirring noise or some form of cable noise from a binding cable in the housing. These are low tech mechanical devices and with them come a miriad of noise type potentials.
