Had the opportunity to go yesterday and check it out for the first time! So much cool stuff and spent some time with my younger brother and we had a blast. Check out the pictures that someone else already posted in flicker. http://www.flickr.com/photos/8730972@N05/sets/72157622242485388/

Yeah John, however the pic you should especially take note of is this one, a certain green and black Street Tracker, who's owner just happened to take home a nice little trophy for 3rd Place in the newly created "Street Tracker" category at this show....

Of course, modesty(one my most endearing traits ) behoves me to tell ya that there were ONLY 3 bikes entered into that particular newly created category!

Was Jay Leno in attendance? Seems like his kind of show. My older bro went to El Camino for a while after high school in the 60's when my family lived in Lawndale. On a business trip some time back, I mentioned to a friend that I intended to cruise by the old family homestead, but I was advised not to visit that neighborhood, because it's now pretty "gangy." Sad.

That bike is amazing, but to win an award in THAT field really says it all. Wow, what a show. The only thing like that here on the East Coast is maybe the Rhinebeck NY show. Great pix, will have to take some time and go thru them. Too many to fast-scan! Quote:

That red '47 Knucklehead on the trailer is interesting. Wonder what he wanted for it? (sigh) I remember when you could get one in that condition for $50.

Nope John. I didn't see him there this year!
(I'm guessin' it's 'cuz his "new hours" have thrown his schedule off a little bit lately!)

Nah! It ain't as bad as you've been led to believe. But yeah, the demographics have changed quite a bit in Lawndale since the Wilson brothers were bangin' out hit after hit just north of here in Hawthorne.
(yep...nowdays there'd be MUCH more of a chance of a song eminating from this neck of the words with the lyrics of..."And she'll have fun, fun, fun 'til her daddy takes her Low-Rider awaaaay...aaay...aaay...aaay!")

Thanks, Al and Zdenko! Yeah, this year's show and swap meet almost didn't come about, as last year the organizer for the last 10 years announced he was hangin' it up, but was hopin' he could find somebody to take it over for the next few years. And this one guy, Marshall, who I had the pleasure to meet and talk with this day, stepped up to the plate.

Yep GB, there were about 5 or 6 Knuckleheads(myself not included in that count, of course )there! And yep, they all wanted an arm and a leg for 'em alright!

Yeah! From the angle that picture was taken, the guy who parked his early 70s Honda step-through Super-90 next to me and with the milk crate bolted to his rack and who pulled out his folding chair and sat down behind his bike, DOES kind of look like a "gnome" sittin' on my bike and his milk crate looks like a tank basket too, doesn't it?!

Several years ago I was out in CA on business, and a co-worker and I went to the El Camino College Motorcycle Show. We had a good time looking around at all the vendors and such. The only thing like that around here is at Stetson College they have a Antique motorcycle show and auction during Bike Week every year.
