I actually thought about that but it definitely would stick out onto the tailgate (Dakota bed is 5'). The stock setup on the gate probably would not be strong enough. I thought about a reinforced base for it or something of that nature and I still have not given up on that.

They also make a loading device called the Rampage Power Lift Ramp which is pretty cool but dang is it expensive!!
