On a long and empty of stretch of US 93 between Vegas and Alamo I tried to max out my Speedmaster. I had the GPS unit on and it registered 103 MPH as the max speed and my speedometer showed over 110 and close to 115 when sanity prevailed and I got off the throttle.

Anything over 85 MPH on my bike is nasty. I can cruise at 60 to 70 MPH all day long and enjoy the ride and scenery. Closer to 60 is where the bike seems to want to ride the best. It is smooth and a joy to ride all day at that speed. Above 70 I feel that I am aiming the bike and I lose the joy of riding. So why push it? It is for fun and I am not out to impress anyone.

+1 Dan, My Speedy has a 42 rear cog and a 18 front cog. It runs fantastic at any speed up to about 70 mph (our max legal limit is 66 mph.), over that and I don't enjoy the ride.
On another note I have had my Speedy up to 155 kph on the clock, saw sense and backed off. Didn't want to be a statistic.
