I got the tire on last night, replaced the rubber damper, adjusted the slack in the chain and rode my bike into work this morning. Unfortunately I am still experiencing the same throttle lag and jerky sensation when accelerating and decelerating.
I give up and the bike is going to the shop next week. If they can't fix it then I'll have to consider trading it on the FI model.
