My 'local' Triumph dealers are 45 minutes north and south of where I live. So I bought my 1st new bike, a HD, for the reason that the dealer was right in town. For a brand new bike, I wanted a local service in case of anything major, whether it was warranty or not.

I do my own basic servicing, but I didn't have a garage and doing major work outside is long in my past.

Working in SC, I can travel past the dealer to the south, so that's when I decided to trade for my America.

I've now used both the above Triumph dealerships and won't be using their service departments again, if I can help it. I was not impressed with the way my selling dealer did my 600 mile service and neither dealer was helpful when I was attempting to remove the AI and get the bike running properly. The service tech at the dealer in Raleigh (2 hours away) was more helpful, but too far away to be practical. All 3 are multi brands, and each has their preferred fav brand (either BMW or Ducati). Triumphs just seem a adjunct.

Now, it's a service manual and my mate's garage from now on.
